Little-known essay by Volodymyr Starosolskyi on political outlook of Tomaš Garrigue MasarykSection: Publication of Documents Abstract: The purpose of the work is to include in the scientific circulation the text of the little-knownessay of the public and political figure Volodymyr Starosolskyi "Foundations of the Political Outlook of T.G. Masaryk" as a source for the study of the creative heritage of Ukrainian emigration in the Czechoslovak Republic. The research methodology is based on the basic research principles of historicism, scientificity, objectivity, general scientific methods (historical and logical) and special historical methods (narrative and problem-chronological). The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time the little-known essay of Volodymyr Starosolskyi "Foundations of the Political Outlook of T.G. Masaryk", which is kept in the fond "Collection of documentary materials of Ukrainian emigre nationalist institutions, organizations and persons" of the Central State Archives of Supreme Bodies of Power and Government of Ukraine in Kyiv, is being introduced into scientific circulation. The informational potential of the document is analyzed as one of the examples of the creative heritage of Ukrainian emigrant scientists in Czechoslovakia. The main aspects of Volodymyr Starosolskyi’s analysis of the peculiarities of T.G. Masaryk’s political views are highlighted — humanism, democracy, morality, attention to national, social, and religious issues. The essay by V. Starosolskyi remains important for the study of the political views of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic. Conclusions. In general, Volodymyr Starosolskyi’s essay "Foundations of the Political Outlook of T.G. Masaryk" is one of the testimonies of the interest of Ukrainian emigrants in the figure of the first President of the Czechoslovak Republic. One of the motives for preparing the essay was a feeling of gratitude for the support of the refugees, but this did not particularly affect the desire to objectively show the role of this outstanding personality in the history of Czechoslovakia. Keywords: Tomaš Garrigue Masaryk, Volodymyr Starosolskyi, politics, Czechoslovak Republic, Ukrainian emigration.
