Requirements to articles

Articles submitted for publication should meet general requirements to scientific publications (Order of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine No. 7-05/01 of January 1, 2003) and be structured as follows:

- establishing an issue in general and its connection with important practical tasks;

- analysis of recent studies and publications, which begin investigation into the issue and are basis for the author;

- formulation of an article aims (target and tasks);

- statement of main research material with fully grounded results;

- research conclusion and perspectives for following studies.

Articles layout

Articles should include:

- author’s full name in Ukrainian, English and Russian;

- author’s degree and title;

- name of institution where the author works, his position, address, phone number, e-mail;

- article title (in Ukrainian, English and Russian);

- summary (in Ukrainian, English and Russian), volume – up to 250 words (800–1500 signs);

- text of an article;

- list of references given in the end of the article and numbered following their appearance in the article (composed pursuant the HAC requirements);

- references list composed pursuant the APA requirements for publication, with Cyrillic sources transliterated into Latin script (see REFERENCES chapter below).

We do not take any charges from authors for publishing articles.

Articles to be published in issue No. 21, 2017 are accepted for publication by June 1, 2017.

References list (HAC form) should be composed pursuant the Order of Higher Attestation Commission (now State Accreditation Commission) No. 147 (form 23) of March 3, 2008. It can be composed automatically online: http://vak.in.ua/do.php.

Technical requirements

- Articles should be formatted as follows: MS Word text editor, Times New Roman font type, 12 points font size, 1.5 line spacing, A4 leaf format).

- Illustrations to feature in articles should be provided as separate jpeg files (resolution minimum 300 dpi); captions to illustrations should be provided as a separate file as well.

REFERENCES list (transliterated) should be given after the references list compiled pursuant the HAC requirements. A transliterated list is aimed at the edition’s inclusion into the circulation of scientific information and its indexation by scientometrical systems (Google Scholar etc.).

The list includes all the used sources transliterated with Roman characters, thus originally Roman sources should be given unchanged and those written in languages using Cyrillic or any other scripts should be transliterated.

Ukrainian sources should be transliterated pursuant the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 55 of January 27, 2010 “On arrangement of Ukrainian alphabet transliteration with Roman script”.

Russian sources should be transliterated pursuant the Order of the Federal Migration Service of Russian Federation No. 26 of February 3, 2010.

References list should be compiled according  to the international standard of the APA (American Psychological Association).

Do not use the signs of bibliographic description applied for the HAC standard (“//”, “/”, “–”, “;”, “:”). Separate parts of an entry should be distinguished by a full stop, coma, space, round or square brackets and italic type.

1. Book.

Name and initials of author(s) should be transliterated. Year should be given in round brackets after the author’s name and initials. Book title should be transliterated and translated. A translated title should be given in square brackets. A transliterated book title should be italicized. Publisher’s location should be given in English language and publisher’s name should be transliterated. Language should be put in square brackets.

If a description mentions volume, edition specifics, edition number, compiler, editor, proof reader, translator, illustrator etc., this data should be translated into English and given in brief:

Name and initials of author(s) should be transliterated. Year should be given in round brackets after the author’s name and initials. Title of chapter should be transliterated and translated. Title of book whereof the chapter is taken should be transliterated and translated as well. Book and chapter titles translated should be given in square brackets. Transliterated titles should be italicized. Name and initials of editor(s) should be transliterated. Edition number, volume number, pages range or a page referenced should be given in round brackets after a book title. Publisher’s location should be given in English language and publisher’s name should be transliterated. Language should be given in square brackets.

Name and initials of an article author(s) should be transliterated. Year should be given in round brackets after the author’s name and initials. Article and periodical titles should be transliterated and translated. Translated parts should be given in square brackets. Transliterated parts should be italicized. References of periodicals having numerated volumes and issues should include volume and issue numbers; volume number should be italicized. Publisher’s location should be given in English language and publisher’s name should be transliterated. Language should be put in square brackets.

4. Archival source.

Reference entry should include: author’s name and initials, date, document title (transliterated and translated), document description (type – letter, article, sketch, essay etc.), name and number of collection / archival fond, document number, name and location of an archival repository. Language should be given in square brackets. If certain data is missing, you can omit it and provide available data.

5. Dissertation (thesis) and dissertation abstract.

Name and initials of author(s) should be transliterated. Year of dissertation / thesis defense should be given in round brackets after the author’s name and initials. Title of dissertation or abstract should be transliterated and translated. Transliterated title should be italicized. Translated title should be given in square brackets. Type of dissertation, thesis or abstract should be specified in English (Doctoral dissertation – дисертація на здобуття ступеня докора наук, PhD dissertation – дисертація на здобуття ступеня доктора філософії та кандидата наук, Extended abstract of PhD dissertation – автореферат дисертації на здобуття ступеня доктора філософії або кандидата наук, Master’s thesis – магістерська дисертація тощо). Reference entry should include the dissertation / thesis defense institution transliterated or its official English equivalent (preferably). Location of the dissertation / thesis defense should be given in English. Language should be put in square brackets.
