Abstract: The researcher provides a bries review of the printed and archival sources on the history of foundation and scientific activities of the Kyiv Art Gallery of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (its present name - the Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art). A historical outline is given as to the range of investigation of the personalia connected with this museum.
