Abstract: For the first time in the art studies a characterization of the iconographical aspect of depiction of the Evangelists in the miniatures of Peresopnytsya Gospel is attempted. The author provides examples of different iconographic definitions that organize portrayals of the Evangelists in mural painting, mininatures and iconography since VII cent., suggests a comparative analysis of the depiction of some details peculiar to the Peresopnytsya miniatures with the marginal pictures in Kyiv Psalter (1397), the portrayals of the Evangelists in the XVI cent. Gospel from Volyn, the miniatures of a Volyn painter Andriychyna (mid. XVI cent.), XV - XVI icons of Volyn provenance. Keywords: Peresopnytsya Gospel, miniature, iconography. Cite: |
