Abstract: The researchers investigate the principal technological aspects of restoration in the modern science and materials used in it. They argue that mechanization of renovation of the worn parts of the sheet is the most probable way of intensification of scientific restoration. The article tells of the materials of a peculiar composition and purpose suggested for restoration that give a significant raise to the possibilities of protection and preservation of rare documents. Today the most topical issue for the scientific individual restoration is the use of various glue compositions, both traditional and novel. The author provides some information on the usage of the new terms of electronic restoration and electronic renovation.
