Abstract: The history of the Pochayiv Monastery Library in the context of social relations and communication as an important component of social institution, which for a long time contributed to the spread of knowledge in the book form, the formation of social memory was considered. Consolidation and systematic analysis of publications that discuss the history of the monastery and its library can trace the growth of their weight in the society.
