Abstract: In the submitted article the author gives a review to the Staff-notated church singing books of Russian tradition of the second half of XVII – XVIII centuries. The codykological research has been conducted, the attribution of the manuscripts has been carried out, their provenance and history of usage and location have been investigated. The author examines different types of books revealing their specific structural, palaeographic and musical features
