The idea of all Slavic religious and orthodox unity in the works of professors and students of the Kyiv Ecclesiastical Academy (the second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries)

Abstract: This article analyses the individual teachers’ works and master degree holders’ dissertations of Kyiv Ecclesiastical Academy graduates (the second half of the XIXth century and the beginning of the XXth century) who rose the disputable problem of all-Slavic unity. The article tries to prove that both the teachers and the students of the South Slavic countries, who studied at the Academy, put into the idea of Slavic unity ecclesiastical and Orthodox content rather than political one. It is proved that the idea of ecclesiastical – cultural sense was equal to the Slavic idea.

Keywords: Slavic unity, Slavic uniting, Orthodox, Kyiv Ecclesiastical Academy students, O. S. Khomyakov, O. Z. Zavitnevich, I. G. Malyshevsky, M. I. Sagarda.
