Bulgakov Y. Reference books on fonds of archival institutions in the South and East ofUkraine: historiographical discourseAbstract: The article deals with the history, modern state of preparation and range of subjects of reference books of archival heritage of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The paper reveals the contribution of state and public institutions, research groups and individual scientists to their compilation and publication. We show the development of historiographical process of preparation of reference books on archival sources for the study of the history of the South and East of Ukraine, in particular, appearance of the first publications in times of the Russian Empire, establishment of Soviet planned and directive tradition of archival guidebooks preparation in the 1950s – 1980s, formation of modern repertoire of bibliography of archival reference books of the period of Ukrainian independence.
